This program — for fives and older fours — is offered five mornings a week; flexible, extended-day options are available (five, four, three, two days or one full day). Half-day is 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.; full day is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This program is intended to serve as a bridge from preschool to elementary school — it is perfect for five-year-olds who miss the district cutoff date or have a late birthday, or who may need an additional year of gradual transition to full-day kindergarten as well as older fours who wish to get into the routine of attending school every day. The program is led by a teacher with many years of kindergarten teaching experience, with an emphasis on general academic kindergarten readiness as well as social preparation for elementary school. Music, world cultures, movement and hands-on science specials classes are a part of the curriculum. Morning students may join full-day students for Lunch Bunch from 12 to 1 p.m. daily (for an extra fee). Students must turn at least 4 by September 1 of the school year.
